Casa Comunidad has been left standing without any noticeable conservation assistance from the Tayabas LGU. If HCS would just go to the area, the roof is heavily damaged in the part facing the patio. The second floor has been used as a venue for plays, but generally, the space is always vacant. The library is functional though limited in resources.
In the POV of someone who sees Casa Comunidad as part of the lives of the Tayabas citizens, I can say that the failure of the local municipio to allocate the city’s budget in historical areas, instead prioritizing festivals without solid cultural value, has deteriorated the old Casa and the displays kept inside its thick walls.
