In this village stand the first mosque in Zamboanga Peninsula constructed by Sama Bangui-ngui Chieftain Hadji Abdullah Nuno [ Maas ] in 1885 and was recognized by Islamic countries like; Turkey, Saudi Arabia, India, Indonesia, Egypt, Malaysia and Brunei. In this mosque Islamic monotheism [ Tawheed ], Jurisprudence and other subjects was taught which spread rapidly to the neighboring islands and mainland barangays. With its huge and towering minaret of more than 85 feet, the Taluksangay Mosque holds the honor of being one of the country’s National Historical Landmarks. A massive renovation and expansion program was initially undertaken on January 28, 2007 by Kah Amman, the kind and energetic Barangay Chairman and his son Engr. Ibrahim “Bong”M. Nuno and it lasted for more than a year. It was officially inaugurated on August 29, 2008. With a capacity of 3,000 worshippers, it is considered as the biggest mosque ever built in Zamboanga Peninsula. The pride of the Sama Bangui-ngui tribe. (source: taluksangay.eu.pn)

But the sultan of turkey sent gifts to the mosque since the mosque was the center of Islamic Propagation in Zamboanga Peininsula in the south west of the philippines. I am related to Sheikh al Islam, the emissary of the Sultan of Turkey, Mehemet Rashad to the Philippine. I mean of course sayid Mohamad Wajih Kilani or Gilani as some times it is written. His sister was married to my great granduncle. I wonder if I can get the e-mail or the phone of one of the decedents of Hadji Abdullah Nunu, who established the Mosque and was central figure in the petition that sent to the Sultan of Turkey that culminated to the coming of Sheikh Wajih. I noticed that there were two people with last name Nunu in the council for the city of Zamboanga.\
Talukasangay is a nice place, soloidarity and brotherhood are storng becuase of our sincere and kindhearted leaders. i know taluksanagy very well,its our tambayan when we are college we have frends in taluksanagy my husband also is attarcted to this plACE BECUASE OF THE MOSQUE. Taluksangay peeople need to realize how beautiful the place is, if we love taluksangay it not enough that we phraise them and express our love in words, we should know how to preserved and tresure this place, lets not leave the preservation and beautification of this palce only toour leaders, lets help mentain the beuty of this palce. If we can do something to clean and bring back the shining lake of taluksangay , if we can educate our child to put their trust in a profer place not to throw it to the sea. if we can build our comport rooms on the land to keep the good smell of taluksanagay, if we can do away with “pagbanta” andif we can gather all the young people to clean taluksangay including the using and selling of drugs ,if we can give something to spent for this mentaining activities then, we can say that we love TALUKSANGAY! its has world class historical edge which we need to develop and a im inviting you to invest on the beautification of Taluksangay ” Beutification of taluksangay and make it one of the most visited and interesting part of zamboanga. We can create our own beutiful History through taluksangay, despite of negative labels to Muslims like us.Im not from there its not ethical for me to initiate any cleaning activities, however its my prayer that one day i will see my self helping the cleaning of Taluksangay. congaratualtions to sir Ibrahim Nuno for Loving taluksangay through keeping the mosque beatiful and functional. my brother is hafiz, he is willing to open a hafiz center for young children near the mosque so that Qur’an will be read everyday in that mosque.

I am related to Sheikh al Islam, the emissary of the Sultan of Turkey, Mehemet Rashad to the Philippine. I mean of course sayid Mohamad Wajih Kilani or Gilani as some times it is written. His sister was married to my great granduncle. I wonder if I can get the e-mail or the phone of one of the decedents of Hadji Abdullah Nunu, who established the Mosque and was central figure in the petition that sent to the Sultan of Turkey that culminated to the coming of Sheikh Wajih. I noticed that there were two people with last name Nunu in the council for the city of Zamboanga.\

Talukasangay is a nice place, soloidarity and brotherhood are storng becuase of our sincere and kindhearted leaders. i know taluksanagy very well,its our tambayan when we are college we have frends in taluksanagy my husband also is attarcted to this plACE BECUASE OF THE MOSQUE. Taluksangay peeople need to realize how beautiful the place is, if we love taluksangay it not enough that we phraise them and express our love in words, we should know how to preserved and tresure this place, lets not leave the preservation and beautification of this palce only toour leaders, lets help mentain the beuty of this palce. If we can do something to clean and bring back the shining lake of taluksangay , if we can educate our child to put their trust in a profer place not to throw it to the sea. if we can build our comport rooms on the land to keep the good smell of taluksanagay, if we can do away with “pagbanta” andif we can gather all the young people to clean taluksangay including the using and selling of drugs ,if we can give something to spent for this mentaining activities then, we can say that we love TALUKSANGAY! its has world class historical edge which we need to develop and a im inviting you to invest on the beautification of Taluksangay ” Beutification of taluksangay and make it one of the most visited and interesting part of zamboanga. We can create our own beutiful History through taluksangay, despite of negative labels to Muslims like us.Im not from there its not ethical for me to initiate any cleaning activities, however its my prayer that one day i will see my self helping the cleaning of Taluksangay. congaratualtions to sir Ibrahim Nuno for Loving taluksangay through keeping the mosque beatiful and functional. my brother is hafiz, he is willing to open a hafiz center for young children near the mosque so that Qur’an will be read everyday in that mosque.
