Nice piece of info. I’ve been to the town (Lucban) several times but haven’t seen or noticed this bridge. How far is this bridge from the Lucban town proper?

      TULAY NA ARKO
      “Fuente Del Capricho”

  2. I just researched the history of this bridge from one our annual family reunion publications (Tres Caidas 2002 Program). I want to share some trivia:

1880-81 (Gob.) Feliciano Racelis constructed the wooden Kamatian Bridge.

1905- 08 (Alcalde) Vedasto Cadelina (my great granpa’s first cousin) constructed the “arkong bakal” and the concrete Kamatian bridge.

(source of information: Kasaysayan at Tala ng Bayan ng Lukban, Quezon, Pantaleon Nantes).

Arco bridge where located 1km from lucban pob. going to sta cruz. It was the first bridge from lucban beside napocor power line. Beside of that concrete bridge was a small open air meeting place of a group, or maybe a brgy hall…that hall where it stand’s was the old arco bridge. You can see it if you look down under the brige.
