San Diego-Yap House (Cebu City)

Posted by admin on January 2, 2007

Built during the late 17th century by the Chinese merchants residing in Pari-an. This was the house of Maria, Eleuterio, and Consolacion Yap. The eldest daughter, Maria Yap, later on married to Don Mariano Sandiego, a Cabeza de Barangay of Parian late 1880’s. At present, this ancestral house is in the custody of Mr. & Mrs. Val Sandiego. This house is currently undergoing renovation and outfitting for a museum. (Arnold Carl)

The address was printed on the entrance stub given to us. which is 155 Mabini St, Cebu City.
As of Dec. 2009 the entrance was still Php50. You can contact them on Tel. 515 9000. Of course bear in mind the area dialling codes. Hope this helps.

I remember bringing a Swiss guest to this quaint little house. The furniture and embroidery were the things that caught most of her attention. But I believe, the real surprise is in the bedroom though!
